Madeira is among the best destinations in Portugal. For tourists that appreciate incredible landscapes, it is the perfect destination. Beaches, natural pools, viewpoints, gardens, huge mountains and buildings, the hometown of the soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo is a true paradise on earth.

  1. Going downhill on board of Toboggan is a very curious tradition on the island, the karts created around the 19th century to transport goods from the top of the mountain to the city are now a point of attraction!
  2. Madeira is also famous for its year-round flower gardens and its many botanical species. Subtropical climate, mild temperatures and fertile volcanic soil contribute to the emergence of European species that in another region, only grow in greenhouses.
  3. Boat trips are one of the most popular activities among tourists visiting Madeira. Beyond the breathtaking scenery, tourists are very likely to see some playful dolphins up close.
  4.  Porto Moniz is a small village located in the northwest of the island, famous for its natural volcanic pools, greatly appreciated!
  5. Although recipes from mainland Portugal are always on the menu, the island has iconic cuisine that bring a tropical touch to the local gastronomy. Bolo do caco (traditional Madeiran bread), swordfish with fried banana and poncha (traditional Madeiran drink) are some examples!
  6. All trips through Madeira must pass through Funchal, the island's capital! Discover and experience the Monte cable car, the farmers' market and the historic area around Rua Santa Maria!
  7. The incredible Cabo Girão is the largest natural promontory in Portugal! A recent viewpoint, with a glass floor, where the views extend from Câmara de Lobos to Funchal with the Atlantic Ocean in the background.
  8. Pico Areeiro, on clear days, is one of the most beautiful places on the island and a must visit!
  9. The traditional houses of Santana are the island's postcard, they have a triangular shape and are covered with thatch. Interesting to visit!
  10. Câmara de Lobos is a fishing village and has the best restaurants in Madeira!
